Elizabeth Vu, LCSW

Elizabeth Vu is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (licensed in CA, WA State, and MN) who has been in the field of social work for over 20 years. She began working in home and community-based case management services, moving into school-based mental health, then into outpatient mental health. In 2018, she opened her practice, Inner Roots Counseling and sees clients in-person in San Mateo, California, or online via telehealth.

Elizabeth integrates a number of modalities to treat her client's concerns. She specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, and insomnia. She is a Certified EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a Registered Sandplay Therapist, and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Jungian, psychoanalytic, and psychodynamic theories into her work.

Elizabeth is passionate about helping her clients overcome barriers in order to experience fuller, more expansive lives. She works with clients ages 6+.
